Built in 1886, Louisbourg Heritage House was once the rectory for St. Bartholomew's church situated behind the building. It was originally and for fifty years the home of Cape Breton's Archdeacon Thomas Draper, who was instrumental in bringing national recognition to the ruins of Louisbourg's fortress.

Now a village landmark, Louisbourg Heritage House Bed & Breakfast is a handsome building set back from the street behind a white picket fence. Our guest rooms are named after former residents and each room has a private ensuite bath, lovely wood floors, a private balcony, and a superior-quality queen bed.

We are located on Main Street in the very heart of the village. Park your car and leisurely stroll to the waterfront, the shops and restaurants, and the Louisbourg Playhouse, where traditional Island music and dance are performed every evening from late June to mid-October. We are also a 15-20 minute walk to the Visitor Centre of Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site.
